Malaika Pettigrew

Malaika Pettigrew will be available for private Spiritual Healing/Coaching sessions and will also offer short workshops during afternoon Free Time. On Thursday, Malaika will lead us in "Dancing to Peace and Joy in a Time of Chaos." And on Friday, she will be joined by Shana Adams for  vocal meditation "Singing to Peace and Joy."

Malaika is a Life Coach, Healer, and Dance Movement Instructor.  She has over 25 years of experience in leading groups, facilitating retreats, teaching leadership skills, counseling, coaching, and healing. She has traveled the world extensively and has a wealth of world views, styles and techniques within her practice.

Malaika earned a Master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from J.F. Kennedy University in Orinda, California, and she taught at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Naropa University for 11 years. Malaika founded the Institute for African American Leadership 15 years ago. She has served in leadership positions with a number of organizations serving low income/under resourced families, battered women, social change activism and teenage mothers.

She completed her life coaching certification with the Life Purpose Institute and received certification as a Minister of Spiritual Healing through the Takoma Park Chapel.
